How my journey began

I have been living a corporate life for over 30 years, juggling my growing family, an exciting job in strategy, and a welcoming home and garden in the Upper Valley in Lyme, NH.

Alzheimer’s has been in my family for generations. My mother, her sister, brother, mother, cousin, aunt — all suffered variations of this heartbreaking disease. Today, there are nearly 7 million people living with Alzheimer’s in the US, and about two-third are women. Knowing that I could be next in line, I had to find ways to keep my brain healthy to give me a fighting chance.

Today there is no cure, however there is an increasing body of research about prevention! I learned that the risks of getting Alzheimer’s are much less from your genes than from your environment and lifestyle. This gave me so much hope!

Our family adopted a whole food plant-based lifestyle, moved more, spent more time in Nature and experienced life changing benefits — better digestion, weight loss, growing positive mindset. A huge bonus was that it really helped me weather smoothly through menopause! It is not always easy and we are certainly not perfectly following all the guidelines.

The positive changes I saw encouraged me to go back to school so I could learn how to help others just like you find their own path to maintain a healthy brain and life. I am attending the Institute for Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching program (IIN) and while I wait to graduate in January 2025, I earned the badge of a ‘Health Coach in training’ so I can start helping you to make sustainable change today.

I learned I could be in control of my future health — so can you.
